Interactive animation

I decided that an interactive music animation would be a good idea because if the images related well enough with the lyrics then the person would press the screen in order to see the next image that animates that lyrics.

Vector and Digital Graphics

After reading into what the difference between Vector and Digital Graphics i found out that sketchpad was the first drawing program created that could create Vector drawings, this was created in 1960 by a man called Ivan sutherland. This was only made a few years after a man called Kirsch created Digital imaging. This program was a big influence for the program CAD (Computer aided Drafting).

While pixels are actual block's of an image, Vector's are point's, line's, curve's and polygon's on an algebraic grid. These are called "primitives" which are the main structure's to Vector art.

Also when you zoom into a Digital image it will have several blocks of pixelation, however when you zoom into a Vectorized image there are no pixel's due to the image being made up of line's and point's.

As you can see close up to a vector image its flat and no pixelation, but when zooming into a digital image it becomes pixelated due to know use of lines and curves with point's.

Ipod Touch I-nimation

Thinking about my Animation made me realise something, my Animation could have the potential to be an attachment to I-tunes music for people who enjoy watching videos with their song and also choose to upgrade the song to an interactive video. This would mainly aimed at music enthusiasts between the age of 16 - 30 which would be ideal for boring train journeys and also waiting around for people.
Here's my initial idea...

As you can see it would be on the "MORE" option, then it would open the page up to other music apps such as Audiobook, Genre's and other menus to help customers with their music. I thought that i could put the

I-nimation in this More menu for an option to open the music attachment.

My illustrations for my Animation

Here are some of my illustrations i have been working on that relate to the words that are in the first paragraph of the song Role model by Eminem.

After uploading all these images to my computer i will add certain effects to the colour to give it a more pop art comic theme, which would compliment my images perfectly. Also im going to be cutting out certain parts so that i can animate them on After Effects.

Second poster finished

The message behind this poster is that fans and the papers can be a problem when being a celebrity and in this song Eminem is expressing his feeling about how people keep interupting his day with his family and also himself.

This would look good in a shop window and so would my other poster, but what theme could i give these two posters that would seem relevant for Diesel as a brand.

The way i am poster is mainly going to be occupied on eminem as a celebrity, so i have done loads of fingers and hand pointing at him and also a camera pointing at him with a speech bubble saying leave me alone.

This is an initial layout that im going to give this poster, i have put the hands infront of him because of the attention that he gets is relatively in his face so this poster has give the impression of being bombarded with fans.

This is another idea of the type thats going to be in the speech bubble, i think the words im using are very bold and also straight forward which also reflects on his attitude.

Images that work with the genre of this poster

Because the idea of the poster is about the fans and the press consistantly taking photos and mocking Eminem, im going to do some illustrations of cameras, hands pointing and news papers on the floor with his face on the paper. Heres a few images that i want to incorporate into my Advertisement.

These are photos of different angles of my hand so i can get a good idea of the shape and creases in the hand that would be relevant for peoples hands pointing at him.

This is just a close up of the hands that i was tracing over in illustrator in order to vectorize the image.

I wanted to do all different shade of skin colour in order to not depict out just one race but with all races so it doesn't relate to racism or leaving out anybody, because i would imagine that his fans are of all ethnicities.

next poster ( The way i am)

When listening to this song this give me a real feeling of not being left alone due to the fact that one of his lyrics say that people wont leave him alone when hes feeding his child. I can understand that this would be a big problem especially when your trying to hold a family together without being mithered by the press and fans.
Heres a picture i drew of Eminem but with more of an angry face to reflect on how he feels abut the situation.

As you can see i still want to keep the same kind of style and now i want to vectorize this image to produce a more digitalized image to work within an advertisement, which would also communicate better with my target audience which is anybody between the age of 16-30.

Giving Eminem this dark aura gives the image more attitude and shows the darker side of his emotions towards people who consistantly pick at him in the streets while he's doing his own thing.

finalised poster for Role model

After i finished this piece i realised that the style does suit the style of music that Eminem sings. Relating music and art together brings out feeling in work and i feel that i have achieved this to a good standard. The whole idea of the poster is that being a child we learn off the people who we look up to and sometimes that isn't a good thing due to some parents or Role models aren't what people see them to be, and this is what Eminem was trying to get across to his fans.

As you can see i wanted to give the faces a boarder to represent the style of a comic book, which i will be doing alot more, especially on my animation which will be on the same song and will also be moving to the lyrics that will be said. This is called interactive animation, Just like the video of Watchmen which has the potential to be an application on an ipod for music enthusiasts.

Some inspiration for my Animated song

This could be done quite easily because only small things are being moved slightly and its alot about how the camera moves and pans out.

Additions to my poster

After i drew the face i needed a fist to go with it so i can relate him to violence around a child so i decided to draw a clenched fist, Here's a few printscreen's of my process.

I found that blending in the illustration behind the vector gives the image more depth and detail.

Heres a few images that i took at the Diesel shop, These should give me a good insight to what layout i would present my work in the window. so im going to look into objects hanging down, colours and something with the floor.

I really like this one due to the humour of the deal thats in the window.

Inspiration for Role model

Role model is about Eminem telling his fans that he is not what people think he is, basically the song is all about not judging people before you meet them. Because everyone see's Eminem as a Hip Hop Gangster so people want to follow in his footsteps.

Typography ideas

This was meant to say "lose theme" but unfortunately i couldn't fit it in but the idea of the style of type im trying to achieve shadow and a realistic feel.

This is a more detailed illustration using pencil, Biro and a fine liner, i found that using the pencil to shade against the Biro it created a real depth and 3D feel to the type.

Vector practice

This is my First vector idea using layers and some shade, After looking at some of my inspiration i found that i need to do more shades. some lighter than others to create depth and character.

This is an idea of what im trying to aim for.

More Illustration ideas

After thought about grabbing the crowds attention i needed to find a way that Eminem reaches out to his fans, so i watched some of his live concerts and found that he has such a strong bond with his fans and they reach out for him as you can see here........

This was my first idea of a head exploding with some style of Typography.

This was the image that gave me the inspiration for using this exploding style.

This was an idea i had using sharp shapes to represent hate and smooth flowing shapes to represent love.

Here i was using a face to depict out just dark shadows to create the outline of a face, This is a start to learning about shadow layers.
